Both natural and cultivated spaces appear as miniature landscapes in my work.  The individual drawings are small-scale vignettes of botanical matter that move outward, from interior to exterior spaces, to become pieces of a larger landscape.

Slowly built-up layers of small details, with one mark suggesting the next, arrive at the final image. Submerged graphic elements serve as counterpoints to organic textures and suggest the underlying structures existing in the most seemingly wild patch of land.

Andrea Biller Collins is a Lancaster-based visual artist who has shown regionally and nationally in venues including Curio Gallery and Creative Supply, Creative York and the John Fonda Gallery in Baltimore.  In addition, Andrea has worked with fellow artist Harriet Hacker on numerous curating and design projects under the name Dearkeystone and was a co-founder of the former lowercase gallery, located in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania.
